Forex uses leverage, which amplifies both gains and losses. The strategy aims to use leverage conservatively, but leverage risk can never be eliminated.
Understanding leverage risk
Leverage allows you to control a larger position than your deposited cash. A 1:30 leverage ratio means $1,000 controls $30,000 worth of currency. While this can increase profits, it equally increases losses. A small adverse price move can trigger a margin call and close your position automatically. Always confirm the leverage your broker allows and ensure you understand margin requirements before copying any leveraged strategy.
